PORTSOY
Mrs Ellen Lindsay of 14 Church St, Portsoy, gave Carpenter several ballads. Glenkindie, Young Benjie, Gill Morrice, and Glenlogie. Also Drumalochie, Rigs O Rye,. She had learned some of her ballads from her aunt Miss Katherine Weir of Lewis Hillock, by Mossat.
Her husband Charles Lindsay gave Carpenter The Barrin O The Door, and the ballad Young Caroline And Her Young Sailor Bold.
Mrs George Donald of Portsoy gave Carpenter Johnnie O Braidisleys, Allan Maclean, The Broom O The Cowdenknowes, The Laird O Drum, The Dowie Dens O Yarrow,
